Who We Are

PharmaCapture is a collection of executives and forward thinkers coming together to solve the pressing issue of consumer directed utilization management, and its expansion into a full healthcare management framework.

Management Team:

Rocco Chappie – CEO/Founder/Director. Mr. Chappie has a depth of experience in both the healthcare community and business arena. Prior to founding PharmaCapture, Mr. Chappie was a Business Development manager at The GoDaddy Group, a leading internet technology Company. Prior to this time he spent 3 years with Medliant in the role of Vice President of Client Services. Mr. Chappie also was in charge of Client Services at Coinspinner Systems and was a founding member of the Ryven Group, a professional services organization. He also founded D9 Web Technologies, a Web systems development company where he was Vice President of Sales. While managing network services at BPG Worldwide, which included LAN/Web sales, he led the consulting and deployment teams. He has worked with a wide variety of firms ranging from Google, Intel, Symantec, Microsoft and AOL to Universal Music Group, VH1 and various production companies.

Ray Boggio – CFO. Mr. Boggio has over 25 years experience in both domestic and international business management and development. Currently, along with being one of the founders of HSAC, he is the founder of Silver Bridge Strategies (SBS). SBS provides program and strategic management consulting to Fortune 100 firms in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, managed health care, hospitals, and medical research/life sciences. Other industries and organizations serviced by SBS include investment/banking, aerospace, manufacturing, entertainment, and foreign governments. A partial list of clients include: Kaiser Permanente; Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, WellPoint, PharmaCapture, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Coca Cola, Neutrogena, Farmers Insurance, Countrywide, Universal, The People’s Republic of China’s Foreign Experts Bureau, The People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Finance and Economics, and the Italian Regional Government of Piemonte.

Scott Parker – VP Channel Sales and Marketing. Scott has over 15 years in pharmaceutical sales and customer relations experience. At his current position with Hoffman LaRoche Laboratories he is responsible for clinical and product training for new medical representatives in the Western Region and up-training for existing medical representatives in the Western Region. Specific functions include: conducting competitive product training to sales teams throughout the Western Region; administering competency testing for new medical representatives; providing periodic competency reporting on existing medical representatives. Prior to his current position at Hoffman LaRoche, Scott was responsible for the promotion and marketing of the primary care portfolio to primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, and obstetricians/gynecologists. Specific functions include: promotion of Boniva® and Tamiflu® ; promotion of testing and screening for hepatitis c; organization, coordination, and execution of educational symposia featuring national thought leaders providing educational presentations to local customers on various diseases, advances in therapy and treatment, and medical breakthroughs; management of product-specific budgets and marketing initiatives; negotiating formulary status for the Primary Care portfolio at heath care institutions.

Mike Sigler – Director of Information Technology/Advisory Board Member. Mr. Sigler has 15 years of experience as a technologist working with IT systems and Internet-based applications. He has worked as an IT consultant for several years, creating systems with strong ties to the Internet and helping businesses of all sizes to “web enable” their operations securely and efficiently. Some of his consulting projects include: Improving and fortifying the web-based applications for a telecommunications company in preparation for an IPO, creating and developing an agency system for an online based insurance company, managing the development team for a browser based keyword search product, as well as overseeing the architecture and development of several member-based online communities for various applications. Mr. Sigler was also the founder and President of Talon Technology, an IT development and consulting company with nearly $1 million in business their first year. He was Director of Technology for Noodles Internet, a large New York-based online children's community. He was a founding member of Department Nine Web Technologies, the Internet Systems Development offshoot of BPG Worldwide, a global media company.

Michael G. “Mike” Ryan, FACHE – Chairman of the Board. Mike is Chairman of Executive Impact Group www.execimpactgroup.com an international advisory firm based in San Francisco. Mike has more than 25 years experience in innovative leadership and pioneering technologies in healthcare at leading medical centers, eHealth firms, biotech, pharma and technology companies. As a seasoned health system, hospital and technology company CEO he is a recognized leader in creating breakthrough technology solutions for all healthcare sectors internationally. Mike was founder of VC funded www.healthonline.com and has been an executive or advisor to hundreds of healthcare, biotech and technology companies including: www.healthcare.com, www.drugstore.com, www.redcross.org/ www.takesalltypes.org, www.ache.org www.hcahealthcare.com, www.proteolix.com, www.deskactive.com, www.novabay.com, www.ascensionhealth.com. In addition, Mike hosted a “live” interactive service for America Online www.aol.com and writes blogs at http://blogs.healthcare.com/healthcaremusing/. Mike is board certified in healthcare management and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He currently serves on the board of California Healthcare Leadership Association and Regent’s Advisory Council. Mike received his MBA, The George Washington University www.gwu.edu, Washington, DC. He holds dual degrees from Regis University www.regis.edu in Denver, Colorado and served as a White House Intern www.whitehouse.gov in Washington, DC.

Alex Fielding – Director. Mr. Fielding has spent his career innovating in the areas of advanced research and development of networking and communications products. He served in data center infrastructure management as CTO of TVDC, network engineering management of the West Coast Platinum Team at Exodus (supporting the world’s largest data network), engineering management for various network products at Apple with prior work in Network Server Engineering and QA, and as a senior engineer at Cisco, DEC, and Cadence. Alex has co-founded two companies. First in the GPS space, he co-founded Wheels of Zeus with Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak. Second, as CEO and co-founder of Ripcord, Alex drives forward development of secure voice and video encryption for government customers, revolutionizing Voice and Video encryption for multiple platforms including Mac, Windows, and Linux. Alex serves on the board of directors of: Ripcord, Kheiron, and CAWEW. He is a technology advisor to TED Med and the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department. He also is a distinguished individual contributor to ARIN (American Registry of Internet Numbers), and active contributor to the IETF. Alex is a prior member of MENSA. He is a founding member of Singularity University at NASA Ames Research Center. Alex is a contributor and co-author on several patent applications and is widely regarded as an expert on communications products, systems, and development.

Gordon Romanas – Advisor. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Mr. Romanas is responsible for projecting and converting the vision of the company into profitable business. Prior to joining PharmaCapture, as part of the MedInitiatives’ management team, he led the business development efforts to grow new business and set the stage for acquisition by IMS Health in 2007. In other roles he has served as the lead for Product Development, Marketing/Product Management and Operations. He has experience with established organizations as well as start-ups: Medimpact, a San Diego based PBM and Medibuy, a healthcare supply chain exchange backed by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers Capital. After serving as a Logistics Officer in the United States Marine Corps, Gordon was a founding partner in Alpha Pacific Inc., a med-surg distribution and consulting business, specializing in government eCommerce and acute care supply chain automation.

Kevin Vitale – Director. Mr. Vitale brings over 25 years of international business executive experience leading companies with a focus on service, quality and customer satisfaction. He has held senior executive positions including CEO, COO and President with multiple public and private companies including ITT Qume, Alcatel/DTC, NetFRAME Systems, Wall Data, Encanto Networks, Ejasent and Cinergy Health. Kevin is also an entrepreneur and a management consultant to emerging technology, product and service companies.

Board of Advisor Members

Michel J. Maeso – Advisor. Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, Funambol Michel J. Maeso is responsible for Funambol’s worldwide sales. He has 20 years of experience in the high tech industry, where most recently, he was Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for VitalStream, achieving record revenues and assisting in the sale to Internap [NASDAQ:INAP] for $222 million. Prior to VitalStream, Michel was Executive Vice President of Sales for Packet Design where his team sold to telecom and wireless providers globally. Prior to Packet Design he was vice president of sales at Speedera Networks, where during his two-year tenure, Speedera grew from $13 million to a $50 million run rate, and was cited as one of Silicon Valley's 10 fastest-growing private companies before being acquired by Akamai Technologies [NASDAQ:AKAM] in a deal worth $800 million within twelve months. Michel has also held sales leadership positions at ATT, BellSouth and Intellysis Group.

Bill Barre, R.Ph. – Advisor. Vice President of Strategic Network Development for MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. Early on in this role, Bill was particularly instrumental in strengthening the MedCare® pharmacy network by expanding and enhancing its flexibility to meet our clients’ needs. In November 2004, Bill joined the Business Development Team to maximize and accelerate the growth of MedImpact by expanding its network relationships and by pursuing business opportunities across retail, specialty, and mail-order pharmacy partners. Bill’s responsibilities in this role include: Leading the success of the Strategic Network Development team, Packaging the MedImpact value proposition for our Network partners, Leading the development of Network products and services, developing strategic alliances with key partners, Collaborating with our sales, account management, and pharma-business development teams to extend MedImpact’s progress on multiple fronts. Prior to joining MedImpact, Bill was National Third Party Manager for Target Stores. Bill joined MedImpact in 2001 as AVP, Strategic Network Development and was promoted in 2003 to Vice President, Strategic Network Development. Early in his career, Bill obtained a Pharmacy Degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.

Kade Dworkin – Advisor. Kade brings over 5 years experience inside internet companies and is responsible for leveraging both classic and new media platforms to promote companies and find new business opportunities. Prior to joining the advisory board for PharmaCapture he worked at a social media consultancy firm as the Director of Client Services where he helped start-up stage companies such as PeopleJar and Republic Project gain and retain publicity on popular blogs and build community around brands. Previous to working in marketing promotions, Kade worked at The GoDaddy Group where he handled product development and negotiation with several government authorities. Also while at GoDaddy he led a project that resulted in him being named as a co-author on several patent applications. Kade holds both a master's degree in Information Management and a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Arizona State University.

Tom King – Advisor. Currently Tom is Territory Manager at Crossbeam Systems. Crossbeam Systems is leading a revolution in network security, one that provides intelligent service delivery with high availability, high performance, and resiliency; reduces costs through massive consolidation of infrastructure; and increases flexibility to respond to new threats by offering best-of-breed solutions. Tom is a senior sales executive with extensive years of success. With a deep set of background experience in enterprise application sales and tools, information security sales in the western United States and Canada, and extensive channel sales. He is a skilled communicator, team builder and negotiator. Tom is a graduate of Stanford University and did his Graduate Work at the London School of Economics.

Jann Rigell, R.Ph. COO and EVP– Clinical Operations - Advisor. Miss Rigell joins PharmaCapture after 6 years at CuraScript. Miss Rigell joined CuraScript July 2004 as the Director of Clinical Services and Formulary Management. In her current role, Miss Rigell is responsible for leading a team of Managed Care Clinical Consultants to develop and deliver the clinical management strategy for injectable and biotech drugs to the health plan clients in the CuraScript book of business. In addition, Miss Rigell is responsible for developing and administering formulary management strategies for injectables for the CuraScript client base. Previous to her position at CuraScript, Miss Rigell had 9 years of PBM experience with Medco Health Solutions in a variety of roles including benefit and regulatory compliance, health and utilization management, project management, and creating the clinical sales strategy for responding to requests for proposals (RFPs).
